Billy, Grandson of Walking Short

Amid the growing feelings for Sherry, a girl crippled with Polio, and after and earthquake that brings the feelings to the surface, Billy begins working for Jon Merino, the playboy son of a rich man in Salt Lake City. When Billy is kidnapped, he realizes he has been working for man who is the target of gangster activity.

Being half Shoshone, Billy knows how to take care of himself. He manages to escape, and uses the skills his Shoshone grandfather taught him to both survive and protect himself as he continues to outsmart his kidnappers and stay ahead of Mother Nature.
