Body Atlas takes the viewer on the most amazing journey in the Universe- the journey through the human body.

The film techniques used show the interior workings of the body in action. A computer-graphic "see-through" man and woman show the complex geography inside the human body. But these programs are far from purely medical. Each prorgram matches the interior process to the way it affects our everyday lives-from the chemicals that control our biological clock to the growth of a baby in the mother's womb.

We will view the human body not only with new understanding but with new respect.

In the Womb
The story of a new human life covers the most important nine months in our 70-year span; the time spent in the womb.

From a single fertilized cell, the program follows the growth of the embryo as its head and heart develop-while it is less than one inch long. At birth, the baby still has a long way to grow but its already a perfectly formed and functioning new human being.

Glands and Hormones
Day and night, there's a clock ticking within our bodies. This clock is driven by chemicals in our blood stream, the body's hormones. Half a dozen glands scattered throughout the body make the hormones. Hormones provide the unseen balance within our bodies that keeps all our systems in harmony.
