Sara trades places with Jo Pitts, a street-smart waif who passes as Sara's double. However, as Sara leaves PEI for adventure, she only finds danger and mystery alongside Gus Pike (Michael Mahonen); while Felicity (Gema Zamprogna) lies about her family background in order to gain admission into a prestigious ladies college. On a sad note, this volume ends with the death of one of Avonlea's most beloved townsfolk, Marilla Cuthbert (Colleen Dewhurst); tying this episode into "Anne of Green Gables - The Sequel" and "Anne of Green Gables - The Continuing Story."
